why hello there kiddies, let me introduce you to the world of stress baking. yes, we've all heard of procrastination baking, be-good-to-yourself baking and whatnot, but stress baking is in a whole other realm. when you stress bake, you don't bake because you love baking, or because you deserve it, you bake because you need to direct all that stress and anger into some baking, whether it be exam stress or life stress, just let it all out. now, i know some people will say that you should bake gently with your love, but really, with stress baking the end point is not what you're after. you don't bake something new and exciting, you bake something comforting, a recipe you know off by heart so that you don't even have to think about it, allowing your mind to roam free across whoever knows what.
for me, it allowed me to mull over organic chemistry, biological molecules, psychopathology and integration without the feeling of being trapped behind a desk, because, when you spend 2 weeks non stop working during your holidays, you really dont want to be behind one for a while.
my go to recipes for stress baking are chocolate chip cookies, banana bread and jam tarts.
